🎯 KEY STRATEGIC INSIGHTS

AI & Humanity Council

A Think Tank advising governments, policymakers, and the public on AI’s transformative impacts!

The AI & Humanity Council is a Silicon Valley-based think tank advising governments, policymakers, and the public on AI’s transformative impact. Operating at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and human values, the Council brings together leading thinkers and practitioners across technology, economy, society, ethics, philosophy, and existential studies to provide rigorous research, strategic analysis, and authoritative guidance on the most consequential questions of our time. As an independent, research-driven body, we are dedicated to ensuring that AI advances human flourishing rather than diminishes it—and to illuminating the path between rapid technological transformation and humanity’s deepest values.

(Some supporting (deep philosophical) arguments can be found in one of Sunghee’s articles on AI and Human Future - Coming Back to the Human in the AI Era — A Sequel to “Why Do We Live?”)

The Council fulfills its mission through three interconnected mandates: research, advisory, and public engagement. Through interdisciplinary research, we analyze AI’s implications across six critical domains—technology, economy, society, ethics, philosophy, and existential values—producing reports, white papers, and policy recommendations grounded in rigorous inquiry and timeless wisdom. Through advisory work, we provide strategic guidance to governments, policymakers, regulatory bodies, and institutional leaders navigating AI’s profound implications. Through public engagement, we equip citizens with the knowledge and frameworks needed to participate meaningfully in shaping AI’s role in society. Our work bridges Silicon Valley innovation with humanity’s most fundamental questions, ensuring that those who will be affected by AI—which is to say, all of us—have a voice in determining its trajectory.

The Council operates according to core tenets that guide our every endeavor. We are committed to intellectual rigor—grounding all analysis in evidence, sound reasoning, and multidisciplinary expertise. We maintain independence—remaining free from undue influence by any single industry, government, or ideological agenda. We embrace comprehensive scope—refusing to reduce AI’s complex implications to narrow technical or economic frames, and instead examining its full impact on what it means to be human. We pursue practical wisdom—translating philosophical insight into actionable guidance for those who shape policy and society. And we hold to human-centered values—measuring AI’s progress not by computational benchmarks alone, but by its contribution to human dignity, flourishing, and our collective future. Through these commitments, the AI & Humanity Council seeks to be the trusted voice that policymakers, governments, and citizens turn to when confronting AI’s most profound questions—from immediate regulatory challenges to humanity’s long-term future in a world transformed by intelligent machines.

Using a forum as the launch event for this council

  • 2-3 speakers (including Stanford / UC Berkeley Professors) doing 20-min keynotes
  • 30-40 min panel discussion
  • Continued ongoing activity

Why this is brilliant

  • Maximizes the value of one forum (event + committee launch)
  • Creates lasting impact beyond a single evening
  • Positions K-PAI Nexus as a thought leader, not just an event organizer
  • Connects naturally with November’s Legal Frontiers forum

Startup Pitch Integration 🚀

Adding 2-3 member startup pitches (1 min each) between main talks at every forum:

  • Adds value for entrepreneur members
  • Creates investment connections
  • Differentiates K-PAI Nexus
  • Keeps audiences engaged

  • Target output (policy paper structure)
  • Stanford professor outreach strategy

Naming Poll

Draft the announcement once finalized.

Manifesto Drafting

The Vision & Principles Committee (Sunghee, MiSook, Hayden, Jeff, Jongmin) should start with:

  • Manifesto outline
  • Initial draft for committee review
  • Timeline for finalization

Broadcasting Setup

June launch! Need:

  • Workflow document for the 2-PC setup
  • Translation process
  • Quality checklist
